Finished editing the page proofs of Wolf Island this afternoon -- which means this baby is DONE!!! I started the book way back in 2005, so it's been almost three years in the making -- which is about average for most of my books. For those who are curious how work on it broke down over the years, I did seven edits in total after the first draft, two in 2006, two in 2007, and three this year. Again, that's about normal for me. If I'd done all those edits back-to-back, and only worked on that book until it was finished, I guess I could have done it all in ... oh ... in ten or twelve weeks, I suppose. But I like spreading the process out. I find, which I leave a long gap between edits, I can be more objective about the book. Also, I enjoy it more. My last three edits of the book all came within less than 3 months (one in April, one in June, and the final one this month), and while I wouldn't say I was sick of the book by now, I can't deny that the last edit or two were more... Lately, I've been seeing Juvanex around a lot so I've decided to jump the bandwagon and go on this 7 days detox program. It also comes with some diet advices so I'm gonna try to stick to that for a week and see if it really helps. I'm fighting all my natural instincts to eat. You know how when you get sick and all you can think of is McD and KFC and Indomie and everything else that you're not supposed to eat when you're sick. I've read in a few blogs that I'm supposed to feel nauseous, bloated, having migraines, acne outbreaks, mouth ulcer and pee like a cow. So far I've only got mouth ulcer, a slight headache, bloating..probably due to all the liquid intake and peeing like a cow checked. So not looking forward to tomorrow. I wish I could just jump onto a time machine and fast forward 7 days so that I don't have to go through this torture. I've put on 4kg's since my surgery due to my over pigging out on comfort food so let's see if I lose at least half of this excess weight after... (more)
